Dated: 3rd of May 2012

Subject: Personal statement for scholarship

Respected Mr. Mandela,

This letter is to express my interest in being a part of your university by pursuing a master’s degree in media and communication. I would also like to apply for a scholarship in order to pursue this particular course.

It has always been a desire to pursue my higher education from a reputed university that will teach me by giving more emphasis on practical aspects of the subject. I have always wanted to be a part of this university since my under graduation days. I have been a good student since childhood. I was a topper in my graduation final exam. I have also done a six-month internship in a media company. This has given me a little knowledge about operations in the media industry. I believe that with my work experience and previous results I will prove to be an apt candidate for the scholarship. If given this scholarship, I assure you that I will never let the reputation of the university get affected.

I am enclosing a personal statement along with this letter.

Regards,

Tom Hanks

Endowed scholarships at George Mason University are provided through the generous donations of Mason alumni, friends, faculty, staff, and students. Private philanthropy both enables the university to recognize the exceptional academic achievement of Mason students and helps to ensure access for all who pursue a degree here.
