Subject – Follow up letter after job rejection

Respected Ma’am,

This is to bring to your kind notice that I was interviewed with your firm last month when there was an opening for the position of trainee accountant. I had cleared the first three rounds and was supposed to get a call if I cleared the last and decisive round. Since I did not get that call and waited for it for quite some time, I assumed that the position must have been filled up.

Though I was initially depressed at not having made the cut, I am still hopeful that I would be given a call, when a new position or a vacancy in the same position opens up, sooner or later. I was depressed because it has been a long standing career goal of mine to work at Dewitt Securities Ltd. But, I must still congratulate you on your find. I believe that each interview brings with it a new revelation and a lot of exposure and experience can be gathered from it. The same happened with me too, when I interviewed with your company last month.

All I can say that the interview has given me a lot of optimism and I am now ready to charge ahead with renewed vigour.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Yours Sincerely,

James Mathewson
